S&W Kitchens Wins Remodeling Award
S&W Kitchens has won the Chrysalis Regional Award in the Bath Remodel $50K-75K category. Mary Burkhammer, the project designer accepted the challenge of remodeling the space after another designer had worked with the client for a year and a half, with no results. The result is this beautiful Contemporary Master Bathroom the clients love!
The client wanted an open, uncluttered space to replace their existing traditional space and they wanted a company that could provide the design and full construction services. By the end of the project, we removed interior walls and an arched window, blocked another window and lowered the vaulted ceiling to ten feet.
Some of the features of the space are a new free-standing tub, new LED recessed lighting, a blue tooth compatible vent fan, plumbing chase cut outs in the drawers to allow for storage and the custom-built light soffit above the vanity using the same material as the cabinets.
Mary added sleek uninterrupted elements with vibrant touches of color the client loved and a new space was created. This project is a true collaborative effort from start to finish.

Mary Burkhammer has been working in the design industry for over 30 years in furniture, custom draperies and remodeling. She has been designing kitchens and baths for S&W Kitchens in the Winter Park showroom for the seven years and she is a Florida-licensed Interior Designer. Mary relocated to Florida from her native Ohio many years ago, first to South Florida and now to Central Florida.
“I love the constant change in the design industry – refreshing the palette with new colors and trends. I enjoy working with clients to help them realize their dreams,” says Mary.
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in fifteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The Chrysalis Awards are open to every professional remodeler and design professional in the United States.
Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, 80 remodeling companies from across the United States were named winners at the 2017 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
“This was the first year they have entered the awards, and to take home top honors on the first attempt is impressive,” says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards.
