As a leader in kitchen interior design, Joan is widely recognized for bringing distinctive and innovative designs to the kitchen and bath industry. Recognition of her creative talent has come in the form of premier projects throughout the U.S. and relationships where she has received praise from design and industry publications, professionals and organizations alike.

Drawing on her experience in design, fashion, and international culture, Joan DesCombes knows the importance of designing a living space that reflects the taste and lifestyle of each individual client. Joan’s work appears frequently in major consumer and trade publications, and she is regarded internationally as a leader in kitchen interior design. In 2010, Joan became a back-to-back First Place Regional Winner of the Sub Zero Kitchen Design Contest. Joan’s expertise comes from her background, education, and work experience. Prior to attending Columbia University’s Graduate School in International Business, Joan received her bachelor’s degree from New York University and studied interior design at Parson’s School of Design in New York. She also acquired years of experience as an international marketing and general management executive with Estee Lauder, Revlon and Young & Rubicam, working primarily in Europe. Joan has dual citizenship with Switzerland and has lived in Zurich.

As one of America’s most distinguished designers, Joan’s work appears frequently in major consumer and trade publications. The recipient of numerous awards, Joan consistently receives top honors in the National Kitchen and Bath Association competition. She is the 2008 recipient of the NKBA Pinnacle of Design Award (Designer of the Year), and is a past designer of the NKBA national convention Design Idea Center.
