Remodeling is exciting—but in full transparency, it’s rarely smooth sailing from start to finish. At S&W Kitchens, we believe it’s not about avoiding problems altogether (because in construction, something always comes up). It’s about how we handle those problems—with transparency, integrity, and a commitment to seeing the project through the right way.
One recent bathroom remodel really put all of that to the test.

This project started like many do:
The client found us online, loved our work, and Winter Park designer Chris Druschel, reached out to schedule an in-home consultation for both the primary and guest bathroom remodeling— we were thrilled to partner with them on their renovation journey.
The Clock was Ticking - Baby on the Way!
The timing? Let’s just say it was uniquely challenging. They were expecting their first child, and we kicked off construction during her pregnancy. From the start, we had a shared goal: make sure one of the two bathrooms would be fully functioning before baby arrived.

Challenges and Solutions
We planned carefully. But inevitably the real-world curveballs came.
Midway through the project, we faced a significant delay with a hand-painted tile the homeowner had chosen for one of the showers. A factory error left us short on material—and with an 8–10 week lead time, it brought that portion of the project to a standstill. We explored every alternative option. But none came close to the one she had her heart set on. So, together, we decided to wait. She was willing to go the extra mile—literally, showering at the YMCA and with family nearby—just to get the space she had envisioned. That level of trust meant everything to us.
Then came a challenge in the master bath. After installing custom quartz shower walls, we realized the shower head had been placed several inches too low—despite it being correct on the plans. The fix? Tear it out, rework the plumbing, and reinstall. It added time and cost, but we made the call to absorb that cost ourselves. It was the right thing to do.

Other smaller hiccups followed—grout touchups, a finicky toilet flapper—but the clients remained gracious, patient, and communicative throughout.
Was it frustrating? Sure. But when that baby arrived (a beautiful, healthy milestone we were all cheering for), we were more motivated than ever to deliver a finished space that brought them comfort, beauty, and peace in this exciting new chapter of life.
Our Goal: Happy Clients and a Home They Love for Years to Come
Here’s the truth: remodeling is often complex. It’s custom, detail-heavy, and sometimes unpredictable. But at S&W Kitchens, we don’t walk away when things get tough. We show up. We communicate. We make it right.
That’s how we’ve built a reputation as one of Florida’s most trusted remodelers for over four decades. That’s the heart of S&W Kitchens.
And in this case, it meant giving a growing family the dream bathrooms they’d imagined—just in time to enjoy with their newest, tiniest family member.
